Candle Care
Wooden wick candles are truly enchanting — each one crackles softly like a tiny fireplace, creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere.
While simple instructions are included on every candle label, here are a few extra tips and tricks to help you get the most from your beautiful candle:
✨ The First Burn
- Allow your candle to burn for 2–3 hours the first time you light it. This helps the wax melt evenly to the edges of the glass and prevents tunnelling in future burns.
- Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time — this ensures safety and prolongs your candle’s life.
🔥 Lighting Your Wooden Wick
- Wooden wicks light a little slower than cotton ones — similar to lighting a fireplace.
- Hold your lighter (a barbecue lighter works perfectly) close to the wick for about 20 seconds to ensure it catches evenly.
✂️ Wick Maintenance
- Keep your wick trimmed to around 5mm before each burn.
- Remove any charred wood after burning — this helps maintain a clean flame and optimal performance.
⚠️ Safety First
- Always burn your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
- Keep away from drafts, pets, children, fabrics, and anything flammable.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
♻️ Reusing Your Jar
- When your candle has finished, you can easily reuse your glass jar:
- Pour boiling water into the jar (place a metal spoon inside first to prevent cracking).
- Once cooled, the wax will harden on the surface — simply lift it out and dispose of it.
- Wash your jar with warm, soapy water or pop it in the dishwasher, and it’s ready to enjoy again!
